At Women and Adolescent for Development Uplifting (WADU), we are dedicated to empowering adolescents to grow into confident, resilient, and impactful leaders. Our Adolescent Development Program offers a holistic blend of education, psychosocial support, protection, and leadership training tailored to the unique needs of youth in underserved communities. We provide academic support through scholarships, school supplies, and mentorship to keep adolescents in school and motivated to pursue their dreams. Our psychosocial services include counseling for those facing trauma, neglect, or loss, alongside parenting sessions that promote healthier communication and emotional support at home.
We actively advocate for adolescent rights through awareness campaigns addressing exploitation, abuse, and harmful traditions. Legal aid and healthcare referrals are available for those at risk, while community watch groups are engaged to enhance safety. Life skills training through creative learning, peer groups, and school clubs helps adolescents build self-confidence, empathy, and a strong sense of agency. By equipping teachers and volunteers with skills in adolescent mental health and protection strategies, and creating platforms like youth-led rights clubs and parent-school forums, we foster inclusive, supportive environments where adolescents are heard, respected, and empowered to lead change.
Our goal is to enhance a healthy, empowered generation of adolescents and young people free from HIV, sexual violence, and teenage pregnancy.
